Listerine Mouthwash

So here are some ideas I came up with for Listerine. I am going to give it more color than the original design as well as adding elements such as shapes and illustrations.

  1. #2's bottle is great but I wonder if most people already associate it with the Crest brand. The label has good motion and steers away from the static and industrial grade look of their current packaging.

  2. Even though it is in it's original packaging, #5 could work best with the design that you have. It's clean and has a good use of hierarchy.

  3. The structure of No.3 and 5 would work well when you handle it. Design-wise, I think that you should have something that isn't too girly or manly - maybe have a design in between. Although the flowers represent the flavor, it's starting to look too girlish. You also said that you wanted to go away from the industrial font look, so you can probably use a soft edged sans-serif, something not too bold and rugged...

  4. I like whats going on in number 2. In number 3, it looks like you have something similar to the subaru car logo.

  5. i choose number 2 and 5, it has a mouthwash feeling to it. the design on each is simple and understandable. 5 is well organized. great!

  6. The triangular shape structure would be interesting, I think it needs a flat bottom and for layout i think that listerine Mouthwash is well known and could there for have a cleaner, less cluttered look.

  7. Crest definitely has a great bottle design, I know cause I use it myself. I think #5 has the best layout though, simple and clean. I've always thought of Listerine as no nonsense strong stuff, in that regard I think the other layouts have too much going on. I think you should simplify.

  9. I would rule out bottle 2 since it has already become crest's. If they sit side by side on the shelves, the distinction factor would be lost.

I really like 3, esp if it was made to be an inch or two taller than the competitor's bottles, it would make up for the slimness of the bottle while making it the tallest of the products which would make it stand out. I wouldn't use the bubbly design though, I'd use one of the lower designs for the package.

I could see bottle 4 working well too if the cap was a different shape. What if it had a circular or cylindrical cap?

My two choices for label designs are 4 or 5, my preference being 5's direction.
